Answers to How to Get Rid of Acne By Utilizing Simple Acne Treatment Strategies - Health

How do I get rid of acne? Acne varies per person and can affect pretty much anyone of all ages. There are different types of acne, different types of skin, different treatments you can pursue, and so forth. I have fought acne. I have beaten acne into submission. I am here to help you do the same as it took me years, research, and a lot of trial and error.

This article offers tips and acne treatments that will hopefully shed some light on the ultimate question: How do I get rid of acne?

Stop using oil-based products if you want to get rid of acne. Eating fast foods, touching your face when using cooking oils, using make-up products and other skin care products that are oil based could be causes of your acne.

Avoid soaps and scrubs that can irritate your skin. Your body has natural oils and some of these products that claim to wipe away dirt and oil while ex-foliating your skin can actually have an adverse effect. Many of the over the counter products are more harmful for your skin than good.

Choose mild soaps, a mild acne treatment product, and take showers regularly. These all will assist your skin in battling acne. I recommend a shower filtration system and an acne treatment product that fits your skin and acne type. Many of the 3+ step treatments work quite well.

Stop the picking and popping. I know you hate those pesky blemishes and bumps, but many times doing this can cause more damage to your glands. Also, you tend to add more harm due to oils on your hands. Certain types of acne can scar up if you pick at it.

Consult a professional. Dermatologists are worth their weight in gold. They will certainly help you nail down a treatment that will work for your acne situation. Choosing a good one is important as their main goal should be to help you cure acne and not provide products and suggestions that certainly won't work. It was when I finally went to a dermatologist that my acne began to clear up forever.

Best Acne Treatments

Most doctors will start you off on a mild form of acne treatment if you go the medical route. The two that come to mind contain retinoic acid (sold commercially as Retin-A) which you've probably heard of, as well as adapalene (sold commercially as Differin). They both work well for mild forms of acne. Personally they irritated the heck out of my skin, however spot treatments worked ok. However, just remember that everyone's skin type is different so these may work well for you.

You may need to get on stronger medications such as accutane. This is the drug that worked for me and other folks I know, but the side effects weren't the best. A doctor will typically prescribe these harsher treatments only for the worst cases of acne and if nothing else works.

Birth control pills for women have been said to work as well. I am no expert or scientist, so this is something you should consult your physician on.

Now, if you want to go the non-medical route, there are plenty of acne solutions out there for you. The best ones that I have found and researched are Proactiv acne solution, Exposed acne solution, and Murad acne treatment.

These have been proven to work for numerous acne sufferers. I still use one of them to this day and wouldn't think otherwise.

I mention three of them because as stated many times in this article, everyone is different and reacts to different treatments. One that will work for you won't work for another and these offer different ingredients to combat different types of acne for different skin types.

Good luck. I hated acne and still do. If you truly want to get rid of acne you need to know the facts and know how to treat it according to your own personal situation.
